Seven-year-old Mel is an inspiration! Rocky Balboa … the Little Train that could … they’ve got nothing on this incredible gal. And they don’t have her sweet, puppy dog eyes, either! After overcoming adversity due to an intervertebral disc degeneration in her spine, she’s now thrilled to be going for walks and hikes to explore all the neighborhood scents with her foster family. She loves playing with toys (especially her favorite big, plush piggy) and wrapping everyone around her little paw with cozy snuggles. Mel is used to being the only dog in the home, but now that she’s a confident woman about town she’s been working on her introductions to other dogs. Her new family can continue building her strength with easy, in-home physical therapy. She’s always the first to celebrate her progress with kisses all around. And as a bonus, ARF’s clinic will provide a lifetime of rechecks for non-urgent veterinary care, and lifetime supply of Heartgard, Nexgard, Rimadyl, Gabapentin, and Fluoxetine medications. She currently weighs 64 pounds.Mel's adoption fee has been prepaid by a generous donor.
Mel's adopter must be at least 18 years old with valid state-issued identification. ARF encourages family members to participate in the adoption process, especially children and family dogs. Please visit ARF's web site for information on adoption and to view more cute canines.
